A psychopath is a person with antisocial personality disorder. They are characterised by sadism, narcissism, egoism and a tendency to manipulation.
And although they are very dangerous and toxic, they are often very good at camouflaging, while giving the impression of being charming and very nice.
Discovering that you are dealing with a psychopath is very difficult and often requires the help of a specialist.
The psychopath most often discusses these three topics
How to recognise that a person around us is a psychopath? There are several signals that should worry us. Pay particular attention to behaviours such as failure to comply with social norms; tendency to lie ; impulsiveness; irritability and aggressiveness; reckless disregard for the safety of others; consistent irresponsibility and lack of remorse.
Scientists have been studying the behaviour of disturbed people for years, and the conclusions they draw are very interesting and extremely intriguing. It turns out that psychopaths discuss certain topics much more often than others.
Researchers led by Jeff Hancock of Cornell University conducted in-depth interviews with 52 convicted murderers, 14 of whom were diagnosed with psychopathic personality disorders. It turned out that these people spoke in a particular way. First of all, they spent a lot of time justifying their crimes. They also used conjunctions much more often than others.
The same study also shows that psychopaths are most likely to discuss three topics: food, money and sex.
Peter Jonason noticed that disturbed people are more likely to be night owls. Like many predators, they prefer this time of day, regardless of the fact that in the absence of light, the cognitive functions of other people are weakened, which gives psychopaths an advantage.
Another study conducted at the University of Innsbruck found that psychopaths often prefer certain foods. He usually likes black coffee, radish, celery or tonic. The common feature here is a bitter taste.
Of course, the mere fact that someone likes to talk about food, money and sex, stays up late, drinks coffee without sugar and munches on radishes, does not mean that we are dealing with a psychopath.
Personality disorders are more easily diagnosed by the antisocial behavior mentioned above, rather than by lifestyle preferences. Treat this article as a curiosity rather than a guide on how to recognise a psychopath.
