Warsaw has been recognised as one of the most walking-friendly cities in the world. It took third place on the list prepared by Compare the Market Australia, behind Munich and Milan.

This is due to the excellent conditions for walking in the city centre, as well as the attractions that can be found along the way.

Compare the Market Australia analysts took into account various factors such as the number of rainy days, the number of pedestrian paths, the cost of public transport and safety.

Europe turned out to dominate the ranking of cities favouring walking. In addition to Munich, Milan and Warsaw, Helsinki and Paris were also among the leaders. Tokyo took sixth place, followed by Madrid, Oslo, Copenhagen and Amsterdam.

The list also presents the worst places in terms of walking. Interestingly, only one European city was included in this ranking - Patras, the third largest city in Greece, was in second place. Additionally, it is the only European city on this list until number 30, which was taken by another Greek metropolis, Thessaloniki.
