The South East Student Entrepreneurs and Innovation Conference (SESEI) 2024 has successfully concluded, leaving a lasting impact on attendees and the region's entrepreneurial landscape.

Held at the University of Nigeria Enugu Campus (UNEC), this year’s conference focused on "Empowering Southeast's Future Leaders" and delivered on its promise.

Prominent speakers at the event included; Prof. Daniel Nwachukwu, Deputy Vice Chancellor of UNEC; Dr. Sammy Ajufo, Founder of Colourcode Media; Andrew Chidiebere Odoh, Founder of Arellow; Ugome Adaugo Clarissa, Founder of Larissa Hair and Gallery; Kachukwu Kachukwu of Southern City Consults; Onyekachi Gift, Founder of YekaPro Events; and Emeka Okonkwo of Dekash Empire.

Prof. Daniel Nwachukwu and Dr. Sammy Ajufo delivered keynote addresses that set the tone for the conference. Prof. Nwachukwu emphasised the importance of innovation in driving regional development, while Dr. Ajufo's speech on "Leveraging Media for Student Entrepreneurial Success" provided valuable insights into the intersection of media and entrepreneurship.

Andrew Chidiebere Odoh captivated the audience with his talk on "Driving Innovation and Disruption Across Diverse Industries: Lessons from Arellow's Entrepreneurial Ventures," sharing his journey and strategies that have revolutionized waste management, tech, and real estate sectors in Nigeria.

Ugome Adaugo Clarissa inspired young entrepreneurs with her session on "Building a Brand from Scratch," where she shared her experience in establishing and growing Larissa Hair and Gallery into a successful business.

Kachukwu Kachukwu of Southern City Consults discussed strategic business consulting, emphasising the importance of planning and sustainability in entrepreneurship. Onyekachi Gift, founder of YekaPro Events, shared her insights on event management and entrepreneurship, focusing on building a successful business from the ground up. Emeka Okonkwo of Dekash Empire captivated attendees with his expertise in the nightlife business, discussing how to combine entertainment lifestyle with entrepreneurial ventures.

The event featured a series of panel discussions and networking sessions, providing participants with practical skills and knowledge to advance their entrepreneurial pursuits. The highlight of the conference was the 5 Million Naira Empowerment Grant/Startup and Scholarship initiative, which awarded funding to thirty aspiring student entrepreneurs to help turn their ideas into reality.

Organised by Newsland Integrated Media Services, the conference attracted a diverse audience of students, professionals, and industry leaders, fostering a vibrant atmosphere of learning and collaboration.
