Whether you’re young or old, your skin glow can be retained for as long as you want if you apply the right skin care tips.

One thing you should know is that aging can never be stopped, it can only be delayed. But there are lots of ways you can maintain your skin by supplying it with the right nutrients.

However, not all skin care tips are suitable for all age groups, especially when you 're 40. You need to constantly educate yourself about the skincare tips perfect for your age group.

This article will show you the skincare tips that are suitable for older women. Follow these tips to maintain your glow despite your age.

1. Protect your skin from the sun

The need to protect your skin from the sun is as important as the food you eat. The older you get, the more sensitive your skin is.

Exposure to sun promotes wrinkles, which is what you’re trying to avoid. It’s true that your skin needs a certain level of Vitamin D but that shouldn’t make you spend a lot of time in the sun.

To protect your skin, ensure you have your hats, sunshade, and protective clothes. The importance of sunscreen can never be overemphasized.

Sunscreen will help protect your skin from UV rays that come directly from the sun. Apply it daily, thirty minutes before you’re exposed to the sun and every 2 hours in the sun.

2. Exfoliate regularly

Getting rid of dead skin cells are important if you need to maintain that glow at an older age. The best way to do this is by exfoliating.

Try as much as possible to exfoliate once in a week or two weeks. Exfoliation is the key to maintaining flawless skin at an older age.

3. Moisturize regularly

When aging kicks in, the ability for your skin to self-moisturize starts reducing. You need to take moisturizing very seriously.

The moment you notice any flakiness or dryness on your skin, moisturize immediately. It would rehydrate your skin and give it that glow it needs.

4. Feed your skin with nutrients

What you take into your body is as important as the things you apply to your skin. Ensure you have the right foods in your diets.

Foods like vegetables, bananas, and fish are very good for your skin. If your diet is healthy then your skin will glow.

5. Trade hot water for a warmer one

Washing your face or taking your bath generally requires you to use water. The best option for you at that age is warm water.

If you have a habit of using hot water, it’s time you stop it if you want to glow. Hot water promotes dryness of the skin and you don’t want that.

From cleansing to taking your bath, use lukewarm water only.
