A woman was hospitalised with serious injuries after a swarm of bees attacked her on Wednesday morning near 83rd Avenue and Thunderbird, Arizona, USA. Two landscapers and a bystander were also injured. Peoria police say landscapers disturbed a hive while working in the area. The landscapers received minor injuries and were taken to a hospital. The bees became increasingly agitated and eventually flew into a woman's car through her open window. The bees began attacking the woman and her dog, so she pulled over and ran out of the vehicle. Unfortunately, police say the bees overcame her and she suffered serious injuries. A citizen tried to help her, but the bees began stinging him too. The woman was eventually taken to a hospital for treatment.

Officer Isabel Wolfe says the people who were stung are doing OK, but that the woman's dog died at a vet's office.

Police shutdown the area while firefighters worked to get the bee swarm under control.
