Five men who posed as officers from the anti-narcotic department on the Indian Police Force have been arrested for gang-raping two women at a flat in Anjuna beach village in North Goa, reports the Indian Times.
In a country where rape has become the order of the day, the women who are aged 22 and 30, were on holiday in the town when they hired a taxi to go to Anjuna beach. On their way, the men stopped the cab all dressed in a police uniforms.
They went ahead to abduct the women and took them to a secluded apartment and repeatedly molested them sexually.
According to the reports, all the five accused, Ajaykumar Kushwaha, Jeevan Pawar, Nadeem Khan, Trebor Joseph and Kamlesh Chaudhary, have been charged with gang-rape, kidnapping and robbery.
