Rapper reacts to 'Local rappers' criticism

Alaga Ibile speaks on the heat that his last single has generated. The rapper says the song should just be taken at face value.

Reminisce who has just announced that his album will de dropping in March 2015, has reacted to the criticism that his latest single 'Local Rappers' featuring Phyno and Olamide have received within some circles of the Hip Hop community.

In a series of tweets made on Tuesday, February 17, 2015, the rapper said the single was made with no ill intention, and it is just a rap song.

"Local Rappers is just a Rap Song and not directed at anyone" tweeted the rapper sometimes called Alaga Ibile. "The same lines from "Local Rappers" were the same lines I used on Modenine's "Oyi Rappers" #WhatChanged? #WhyDidItTakeSoLongToSpeakUp?" he further tweeted.

The rapper stated that some people within the rap industry in Nigeria are afraid of change, which likely refers to the dominance of indigenous rap music in Nigeria.

"I sense "HATE" and some cowards afraid of "CHANGE".meanwhile HIPHOP no be anybody papa property..#justsaying" tweeted Reminisce.

'Local Rappers' was released on January 22, 2015. The single was criticised by some who felt the song tried to downplay the relevance of wordplay in Nigerian rap music.

On Monday, February 16, 2015 rapper A-Q dropped a response to the track called 'International Rapper'.
