On Sunday, February 7, 2022, legendary Nigerian comedian, singer and A&R held a listening party for his upcoming sophomore album, Horoscopes. The album is set to feature Buju, Wande Coal, Peruzzi, Oxlade, 2baba, Fireboy, Blaqbonez, The Cavemen, Falz, iLLBliss, Efya, Dremo, Magnito and Flavour.
The album is a follow-up to critically acclaimed 2020 album, Yabasi - Igbo for onions. Like its predecessor, this album is also wholly produced by Duktor Sett.
Also like its predecessor, the song is suited for movie scenes, in an upcoming Basketmouth project. For example, the opening track on 'Horoscopes' documents a supposed plot, where a wife is still in love with her ex who went to prison.
The event, which was attended by reps from Empire, Boomplay and The Plug, also saw Blaqbonez, Falz, iLLBliss and more in attendance. Hosting was Ehiz Dadaboy, who directed the shebang, interviewed Duktor Sett and Basketmouth on stage, while DJ Obi played the song through the blaring lounge speakers.
While the album is destined to get higher resonance than its equally amazing predecessor, Sett - who got plaudits for his work on 'Yabasi' - went to another level on 'Horoscopes.' With appropriate sound engineering, each record got applauded, but the biggest applause of the night went to 'Assemblies of God,' featuring The Cavemen, Falz, Flavour, Dremo, Magnito, iLLBliss and Basketmouth himself - who rolled back the years with a short verse.
'Listen' featuring Wande Coal, 'Celowi' featuring Peruzzi and 'Money' featuring Oxlade and Efya also got loud ovations, so did the The Cavemen's opening line on 'The Traveler.'
Basketmouth also joked about his eight-month chase on the tail of Wande Coal.
You want to anticipate the album.
If it's not good, you can sue us. That was a joke o!
