The Weekend, a drama-thriller film produced by Trino Motion Pictures will premiere at the prestigious Tribeca Festival in New York City from the 5-16 June 2024.
The feature-length film, directed by Daniel Emeke Oriahi, produced by Uche Okocha and executive produced by Babatunwa Aderinokun, follows an orphan lady who visits the seemingly perfect family of her fiancé and uncovers their sinister secrets.
The Weekend boasts of being the first Nigerian film production not co-produced with any other country at the festival, the only Nollywood film to have a world premiere at the Tribeca Festival in 2024, and among the final selections chosen from a record-breaking number of 13,016 submissions.

The prestigious Tribeca Festival, co-founded by Robert De Niro, Jane Rosenthal, and Craig Hatkoff in 2001, is renowned for celebrating all forms of storytelling, including film, TV, music, audio storytelling, games, and immersive experiences, champions emerging and established voices, curates innovative experiences and introduces new ideas through premieres, exhibitions, conversations, and live performances.

The Weekend stars Nigerian and Ghanian A-list actors, including Uzoamaka Aniunoh, Bucci Franklin, Meg Otanwa, James Gardiner, Gloria Anozie and Keppy Ekpeyong Bassey, and written by Egbemawei Dimiyei Sammy, Vanessa Kanu, and Freddie O. Anyaegbunam Jr. The Weekend will premiere at the Tribeca Midnight Section for late-night audiences, festival passes and screening tickets will be available at tribecafilm.com.
