The filmmakers and animators will be celebrating the 'Animation film day' with a series of event lined up by the Franco-German Cultural Fund spearheaded by the Goethe-Institut Nigeria and Institut Français Nigeria.
In a statement signed Aderinsola Ajao for Goethe-Institut Nigeria, the animation day is supported by the African International Film Festival, AFRIFF.
"As part of the Franco-German Cultural Fund, the diplomatic and cultural missions of France and Germany in Nigeria organize a third workshop for animation filmmakers in their two-year project on animation film in Nigeria. The workshop will take place from November 12-15 at Afrinolly and will be facilitated by the German animation film expert Samuel Weikopf (Berlin). Main topics are improving quality, capacity building and management strategies," the statement reads.
Expected to grace the workshop and celebration are Ebele Okoye, Nigerian-German animation filmmaker, Berlin, Christophe Guignement, French animation film producer, Niyi Akinmolayan, Stanlee Ohikhuare, Alexandre Rideau, French film producer, and Ayodele Elegba, CEO of Spoof Animation, Tayo Fasunon, Nigerian animation film maker and Yoann Talhouarne, French Consulate General Lagos, and O. J. Okosun, Nigerian animator.
Niyi Akinmolayan drops first teaser of animation film, Frogeck
Wedding Party 2' director, Niyi Akinmolayan has released the first teaser of his animation film project, Frogeck.
The teaser release is coming few days after a Tunisian game studio, Saphir Production signed a partnership deal with Akinmolayan's Anthill studios.
On Monday, November 5, 2018, Akinmolayan released the teaser of the full animation film on his Twitter handle and YouTube page.
Frogeck tells the story of a young alien who was abandoned on a hill somewhere in Ibadan, Nigeria and how he was found by three kids living in an orphanage.
Frogeck, Nigeria's first full feature animated film is directed by Nurudeen Momodu, a CG artist and lead animator at Anthill studios.
