A Netflix Cheat Sheet Just for Parents
With Netflix’s parental control feature, parents have full control over the content their kids' consume while keeping them entertained. Here are some tips to help you make your viewing experience better as a parent.
Customise their watch experience
- To choose the types of TV shows and movies your kids can watch, you can create a Netflix Kids profile with titles just for kids leveraging parental controls.
- Create a profile with a specific maturity rating. To manage the types of TV shows and movies that people in your household can watch, you can create individual profiles with customised maturity ratings.
- Choose maturity ratings or block shows. When you set a maturity rating for a profile, that profile will see only TV shows and movies that fit that rating. You can also block specific TV shows and movies from individual profiles.
- Lock your profile or other profiles on your account. If you want to restrict access to a specific profile on your account, you can protect it with a Profile Lock PIN.
- Turn autoplay on or off. Netflix has two autoplay features that you can turn on or off for each profile on an account. Changes to autoplay settings take effect across all devices.
- Access viewing history for a profile. You can see the TV shows and movies that have been watched on each profile on your account.
Make separate profiles for you and your kids
- With separate profiles, you don’t have to worry about all those kids’ movies clogging up your Continue Watching row or your recommendations. And when your kid uses their separate profile, you can set parental controls to ensure they don’t get recommended something too mature.
- Grab and go and bring their favorite show with you.
