Imoh Umoren has featured one of Herbert Macaulay’s grandsons, Wale Macaulay in his new film, ‘The Herbert Macaulay Affair’.

On October 2, 2019, Umoren released the 1:31 minutes long trailer for the film on YouTube.

With William Benson taking up the role of politician and nationalist, Sir Herbert Macaulay, and Wale Macaulay playing another role, the film is scheduled for an October 25, 2019 release across Nigerian cinemas.

Benson is tasked with the duty of depicting the lives and times of late Macaulay in the full feature. Scenes from the trailer show Benson interpreting Sir Herbert Macaulay’s gestures and voice while addressing a crowd ahead of a protest, enjoying his famous tobacco wood pipe during a closed-door conversation as well as his uniquely styled mustache.

Umoren also features Kelechi Udegbe, Martha Ehinome Orhiere, Tubosun Ayedun, Sunday Afolabi, Mary Kowo, Phillip Jarman, Stanley Matthews, Obiora Maduegbuna, and Lolo Eremie

Written by Bisi Jamgbadi, Wale Macaulay sits as the associate producer of the film.

Umoren’s last film, ‘The Coffin Salesman’ got over six nominations at the 2019 Best Of Nollywood Awards.
