'Ijogbon' is 8th most-watched non-English film on Netflix globally in 2 days

Ijogbon by Kunle Afolayan is 8th on Netflix's chart for the most-watched non-English films globally within two days of its release.

Between October 13 and 15 2023, the adventure film recorded 4.2 million hours viewed from a total of 2.2 million views making it the only Nigerian movie in that particular category.

Ijogbon is currently the number one most-watched Netflix film in Nigeria and landed in the top 10 charts of nine other countries: Bahamas, Dominican Republic, Guadeloupe, Jamaica, Martinique, Panama, Trinidad and Tobago, Venezuela and Kenya.

Written by Tunde Babalola, Ijogbon follows the lives of four teenagers played by Ruby AkubuezeKayode OjuolapeFawaz of Ikorodu Boiz and Oluwaseyi Ebiesuwa from the rural village of Oyo Oke in South-West Nigeria, who stumble on a pouch of diamonds.

However, things get chaotic when the owners of the diamonds return in search of who took their treasure. The teenagers must come face to face with a lot of chaos as they work together to save one of their friends.

In other news, The Black Book has dropped from Netflix's chart for most watched English films globally after an impressive three-week run.

The crime thriller, which is currently in its fourth week of streaming, had a good run from its day of debut from being third on the chart in its second week of release to 10th in its third week.
