In a lengthy post shared via her Instagram page on Friday, June 10, 2022, the actress described Edochie's comments as insensitive.
"There is a reason they say process and intent matter. It's one thing to impregnate another woman ( adultery ) while you are still married without discussing with your wife your desire to marry a second wife, which our traditions demand. Since you are quoting our traditions on polygamy, have you forgotten there are rules for such engagements?" she wrote.
"Marrying the same woman without the knowledge of your wife until she finds out on social media via a blog; is the worst kind of betrayal of trust. Eyin, there is nothing noble in what you did. You don't force polygamy on people when they are not prepared for it. Give them an option. Not everyone has the grace to be a polygamist."
Edochie had in a lengthy post shared via his IG page said marrying his second wife, Judy Austin Moghalu, was a blessing.
"God works in mysterious ways. Marrying a 2nd wife has brought me blessings and also elevated my two lovely wives. Sometimes it takes the things we see as disappointments to happen for elevation to come," he wrote.
Edochie said he may not have handled the situation well with his first wife at the beginning but has since resolved the issues.
"I wronged my wife May from the way I went about it, and I have apologized to her sincerely from the bottom of my heart, but in the eyes of God things are different. God blesses differently. His ways are not our ways," he added.
It would be recalled that on Wednesday, April 27, 2022, the actor unveiled his new family on social media.
It was greeted with criticism by many including his first wife, May, who called him out.
The actor later shared a photo of his first wife, May and described her as his 'number one and undisputed.'
Yul and May have been married for sixteen years with four children.
