Celine Dion is a pop music icon and one of the most famous artists in the world. For some time now, the singer has been struggling with an incurable, rare neurological disease.

The artist has just surprised her fans and posed on the cover of the May issue of Vogue France 2024. On this occasion, Celine Dion gave an honest interview in which she touched upon, among others: health topic.

"I am a woman who looks into the future with optimism"

Celine Dion appeared on the cover of the May issue of French Vogue, in a photo session that caused great interest. The artist does not hide her joy at the opportunity to return to her fans.

"I am honored to have the opportunity to do a photo shoot for Vogue France. I am very proud that at the age of 55 I was asked to reveal my beauty. But what is beauty? Beauty is you, it is me, what is inside is our dreams, the day today. Today I am a woman who looks into the future with optimism. One day at a time," we read.

Celine Dion suffers from the so-called stiff man syndrome, i.e. Moersch-Woltmann syndrome. This rare neurological disease causes gradual muscle stiffening and severe spasms. The diagnosis forced the artist to interrupt her Courage World Tour and cancel many concerts.

It is unknown whether Celine Dion will return to the stage

In an interview for Vogue, Dion admitted that although she has not defeated the disease, she does not lose hope in finding a cure. "I hope we find a miracle, some way to cure it through scientific research, but for now I have to live with it," she said.

The artist also revealed that her return to the stage is highly questionable. "I have two options to choose from. Either I will train like an athlete and work very hard, or I will switch off and that's it, I will stay at home, listen to my songs, stand in front of the mirror and sing to myself. I decided that I will work with my whole body and spirit, from head to toe, with my medical team. I want to be in the best shape I can," she assured in an interview with Vogue.

On June 25, the Prime Video platform will premiere a documentary about Celine Dion. The film is titled I Am: Celine Dion.
