800 Records have denied the cancellation of Debie Rise’s contract.
The one time sweet passion between the Nigerian Idol Season 3 winner, Debie Rise and her record label 800 Records (Shuga Entertainment) had gone sour and this has made the ‘Gagabu’ singer claim to have dumped the label.
According to the singer, the relationship between her and the management of 800 Records reached a new low after she requested more information about the financial activities of the imprint.
But a new statement signed by the management of 800 Records insists that Debie is still on the roster of the record label.
“This is to inform the general public that the Artist known as “Debie Rise” (Miss. Olurise Deborah Ebunoluwa) is still signed to and under contract with 800 Records,” The statement read.
“Please note that the Exclusive Recording and Management contract between us and Debie Rise has not been terminated or repudiated as falsely insinuated and same is valid and subsists until 2019!”
Further reading, 800 Records also expressed willingness to seek legal redress against any party who does business with the singer without their express permission and involvement.
“Take Notice that any party contracting with Debie Rise as a recording or performing artist and/or in respect of sales of any of her songs or anything to do with entertainment, without our prior consent/authorization would be doing so at its/his/her peril and we shall not hesitate to bring the full wrath of the law to bear on such individual and/or organization; including suing them for aiding and inducing breach of contract and account for profit.”
Debie Rise on January first kickstarted the new year with a single titled ‘Can’t stop me’. You can download it here on Pulse Music.
