Tech firms & talents converge at Women Techsters career week/job fair

Technology for Social Change and Development Initiative (Tech4Dev), a non-profit enterprise committed to empowering Africans through digital skilling is set to hold its annual career week/job fair for graduating beneficiaries of the Women Techsters Fellowship from Monday March 27, 2023 to March 30, 2023.

The career week will provide fellows with a platform to showcase their skills and what they’ve learnt during the six-month learning phase through their innovative capstone projects which will be judged by industry experts.

They’ll also have the opportunity to network with tech organizations and learn from successful professionals in the tech ecosystem.

The Women Techsters Fellowship is a one-year virtual learning program delivered through 6 months of intensive training, a 6-month internship and enrollment into a mentorship program to equip women with skills to build tech careers and tech-enabled businesses.

The class of 2023 cut across 15 African countries such as Nigeria, Ethiopia, Egypt, DR Congo, South Africa, Tanzania, Kenya, Uganda, Algeria, Sudan, Morocco, Angola, Ghana, Mozambique, Madagascar.

The program which is divided into two phases which includes, six months of intensive learning and six months of internship covers a range of highly in-demand learning tracks such as Software Development, Data Science, Project Management, Product design, Cyber Security, Blockchain Technology, 3D and Mixed Reality.

The much-anticipated event will be packed with workshops and fireside chats all designed to help the fellows take the next step in their careers.

The workshops and fireside chats which will be handled by industry experts will cover topics such as ‘maximizing post-fellowship experience, innovation and technology for gender equality, storytelling as a tool for career growth and thriving despite ongoing tech layoffs.’

Speaking ahead of the event, Executive Director at Tech4Dev, Oladiwura Oladepo, has charged beneficiaries to take the event as another learning curve on the opportunities available to them outside the program.

This career week is an incredible opportunity for graduates of the Women Techsters Fellowship to connect with potential employers and explore exciting new career paths in the technology industry.
