JAMB candidates beat up policemen, soldiers during examination registration

JAMB candidates registering for their examinations reportedly beat up a soldier to an unconscious state.

Prospective candidates of the Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB) have reportedly descended on some policemen and soldiers during their examination registration.

The incident which occurred today at the University of Agriculture, Makurdi, Benue State was due to irregularities during enrollment for their JAMB tests.

Most of the tertiary institution admission seekers were angry because some of their colleagues were getting special treatment while the exercise was going on.

According to the Daily Post News, some of the prospective candidates sought special favours aimed t completing their registration at the expense of their colleagues.

A sum of 2,000 students reportedly stormed the grounds of the university for the process, a factor that encouraged the examinees to seek a 'short cut'.

One soldier was beaten to a state of coma according to an eyewitness. He however regained consciousness and took three students.

The witness who spoke to the Daily Post said the incident attracted more presence from army personnel.
