Ikeme is currently undergoing chemotherapy for acute leukaemia which he was diagnosed with earlier in the summer.

Despite his condition, the Wolverhampton Wanderers goalkeeper looked excited to follow the transfer Deadline Day.

“BREAKING NEWS: Ikeme transfers from one room to another !! Medical underway   #longday #stillsmile #TransferDeadline,”  the 31-year-old wrote on Twitter alongside a photo of him on a bed.

He is sure monitoring his Wolverhampton's frantic deadline day attempt to get some last minute transfer done.

11 players have arrived at Molineux this summer but they could be one more transfer done by the club as talks of an audacious move for Dwight Gayle from Premier League side Newcastle.

Just a day after the deadline day, Ikeme’s international teammates, the Super Eagles of Nigeria will take on Cameroon in a 2018 FIFA World Cup qualifier in Uyo.

The goalkeeper was in the mind of the players who wore shirts with ‘stay strong Carl’ to the press conference and for a photo session after training.
