Super Eagles midfielder joins IK Start of Norway

Super Eagles midfielder Afeez Aremu has completed a move to Norwegian side IK Start

Aremu was part of the home based Eagles for the 2018 , and went on to be an effective part of the team that finished runners-up at the West African Football Union (WAFU) tournament in Ghana.

IK Start's Sporting director Tor-Kristian Karlsen, hailed Aremu's potentials and style of play, stating that his impressive performance at the WAFU tournament was where he was spotted.

Speaking to the club's website he said "We are delighted that Afeez Aremu is finally ready for Start. The player was first noted by Mick Priest during the WAFU championship this fall and since then he has also been involved in the Nigeria national team in the World Cup qualifier. We hope this young man can be a solid boost in the midfield."

The 18 year old joins compatriot Abubakar Ibrahim in the newly promoted team.

Aremu played for Nigerian Professional Football League (NPFL) sides, Rivers United, Sunshine Stars and was also on loan at Akwa United.
