Sunderland have enquire about the availability of young Manchester United forward Adnan Januzaj.

The 20-year-old has struggled to tied down a regular spot in Louis van Gaal but the manager could re-consider him after the Belgium international's good pre-season form.

Sunderland manager Dick Advocaat would however be hoping that his good relationship with his Dutch compatriot Van Gall will be an advantage.

Januzaj had his break-out season under former Manchester United coach, David Moyes during the 2013-14 season.

That season he was the shining light in Manchester United's woeful campaign making 27 Premier League appearances.

After avoiding relegation last season, Sunderland have gotten the likes of Jeremain Lens, Sabastian Coates, Younes Kaboul and Adam Matthews to the squad.

Sunderland will face Leicester City in an way game for their first Premier League match of next season.
