With a little help from the ‘Pon pon’ sound, Davido has enjoyed a great year in his career due to his two singles ‘If’ and ‘Fall’. The songs have ensured that he has flown high this year, adding to his repertoire of huge records.

‘Fall’ especially has become one of the soundtracks of Nigerian pop culture, with the phrase ‘fall on you’ becoming one of the local slangs made popular by the single. The song is produced by Kiddominant, and he sat down with Pulse to talk about the making of the song.

“Everybody is talking about ‘Pon pon’ factor, I don’t know who came up with that, but it is the factor of the Ghanaian sound that is popping,” Kiddominant tells Pulse. “Every other thing is Nigerian and Western. It’s not just making beats, it’s about putting cultures together.”

Kiddominant explains that he brought together a fusion of cultures, moving between Nigerian, Ghana, and other Latino instruments to score the hit record. “I feel like David has a unique talent. People are talented in different ways. His talent is knowing what to say, he is just a complete artist.”
