Kanye West makes surprise performance with Rocky Asap

It was going to be one of the biggest moments of the iconic music festival held last night, until sound was cut off, as the artistes had gone overtime

Kanye Wests surprise appearance during Asap Rockys performance turned out not to live up to its potential, after sound was cut off barely two minutes into the performance.

As the crowd booed and expressed their outrage, Kanye gave an uncharacteristically accepting shrug, before heading backstage. The rappers had gone overtime - and due to strict licensing rules, bosses had no choice but to shut off the gig.

Someone who had been in the audience at the event told DailyMail.com that the crowd wanted the two to keep playing, as much as the performers themselves wanted to keep it going.

'Both lost their minds,'  said the source.

Kanye had bee the headline act at the 2011 edition of the festival, and aside that the Yeezy fashion boss has also developed something of a reputation for his 'surprise' guest slots.

Last year he joined both The Weeknd and Stromae on stage.
