Mary is regarded as a lot of things.
For most, she is the mother of Jesus, others refer to her as the Mother of God, Saint Mary, Virgin Mary and Blessed Virgin Mary.
For the Catholics, she is a hugely admired figure because she was a willing servant, who obeyed God's call.
All of the above make her a fascinating religious figure.
1. She came from humble beginnings.
2. She is the perfect embodiment of Christianity: A lot of people claim to love God, however, they run away, when faced with challenges. Mary shows what being a real Christian entails. “I am the Lord’s servant…May your word to me be fulfilled” (Luke 1:38) was her response when faced with the huge responsibility of being the mother of Jesus Christ.

3. She never left her son's side: Mary was at the first recorded miracle of Jesus, at a wedding in Cana (John 2:1-2). She was also present at the Crucifixion, there Jesus handed her over to John, the Apostle’s care.
4. Mary is believed to be without sin.
