Music streaming service adds make-up to its services

Beauty, fashion and music have been intrinsically linked since the 1960s.

Music streaming service Spotify now has make-up as a side attraction on its platform.

The company recently announced it had started showing real-time data about streaming and its audience which is to the benefit of artists.

Celebrated make-up artist Pat McGrath, known for her beauty brand Pat McGrath Labs, is partnering with 'Pretty Girl' singer Maggie Lindemann to release a makeup collection that’ll be sold on Lindemann’s artist page.

Up until now, it had been selling allowing artists sell merchandise like band t-shirts and posters.

Though McGrath’s makeup collections sell out within minutes of release, the partnership with Spotify opens up a new avenue for her products, the young fans of Lindemann’s music.

McGrath said in a statement. “In this digitally-empowered, digital era of make-up, where fans crave instant glamour gratification I always want to reach fans where they’re most engaged."

Spotify has a user base of millions of paid and ad-subsidized users.

The collection will be released with Lindemann’s new single “Obsessed,” on November 17th, with items like lipsticks and face palettes up for sale.
