Dabang, ousted from his position as chairman of the APC in June last year under disputed conditions, formally defected from the party on Tuesday. He was joined by Assistant State Secretary of the party, Hon. Binkur and the Plateau state House of Assembly member Hon. Nampon Toms

Leaders of the PDP received the defected members during the Langtang Mega Rally 2022 tagged ‘The Great Movement’ which was held at the Lantang North Township stadium.

Speaking to members of the press after receiving the PDP flag, Dabang called on all credible people in Plateau state who are members of the APC to rejoin the PDP and liberate the state from poor administration.

Dabang said,

“APC is not a quality party. I want to call on all right-thinking persons of Plateau state who are still in APC to return to the PDP for good. PDP will take over the state in 2023.

“I have full assurance that PDP will win because I don’t have any doubts in my mind. The two forthcoming by-elections, PDP will win them. Plateau people will say bye-bye to APC”.

The PDP State Chairman, Chris Hassan, also noted that the Party was the mother political party in the state. In addition, Hassan said the party reunited with former APC members and would always welcome such persons with open arms into its fold and charged the new defectors to remain loyal and play their part towards transferring power to the PDP.

In his words,

“Our assignment starts from Langtang North LGC. From there we will take PDP to the Government House in Rayfield, come 2023.”

“With the defection of these heavyweights from APC to the PDP, we expect total victory in the 2023 general elections in this state.”

He added that in the coming weeks, there will be another rally in Jos. In this rally, the national leadership of the party will receive all those who have decamped from APC to the PDP in the state.
