Former Ekiti State governor, Ayodele Fayose, is believed to have escaped unhurt after he was involved in an accident in Lagos State on Wednesday, December 5, 2018.
This was disclosed by the former governor's media aide, Lere Olayinka, who noted that he's in a stable condition.
"Immediate past Governor of Ekiti State, Mr Ayodele Fayose was involved in auto accident on 3rd Mainland Bridge in Lagos few minutes ago. He is in stable condition as I write while he is receiving medical attention," he posted on his Twitter account .
In another brief statement released hours later, Olayinka revealed that the governor had been travelling to Ibadan, Oyo State when the accident happened. He continued his journey after receiving medical treatment.
Olayinka said, "I am happy to inform members of the public that former Governor Ayodele Fayose is now fairly okay. The former governor thanked God for limiting the impact of the accident, particularly on occupants of the vehicle.
"As the Southwest Coordinator of the Atiku Presidential Campaign, who is committed to the task of enthroning a PDP government in 2019, Fayose has insisted on coming to Ibadan today, to prepare for tomorrow's campaign rally and he is on his way to the ancient city."
The former governor is the southwest coordinator for the presidential campaign of former vice president, Atiku Abubakar, who's contesting in the February 16, 2019 presidential election on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
