The Chairman, Ado-Odo/Ota, Local Government, Mr Dele Adeniji, on Tuesday, advised the Federal Government to seek expert intervention to pull Nigeria out of the current economic recession.

Adeniji gave the advice in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Ota, Ogun.

Adeniji, however, commended the Federal Government for some of the initiatives taken so far in addressing the economic  problems facing the country, but urged it to be more focused.

”Our policies ranging from economic, political and social should be modest so that a sustainable economic development could be achieved, ” he said.

According to the council boss, advanced countries also experienced recession but they were able to surmount the problem with experts who were technically sound.

”So, l believe that Nigeria will also overcome the present recession if the necessary measures can be put in place by the Federal Government," Adeniji said.

He appealed to Nigerians to support the present government at all levels by contributing their quota to development by paying their taxes and shunning all forms of criminality.
