After months of wondering exactly when Tom Ellis would be gracing television screens once again, Netflix confirmed on Monday that the first part of the shows highly-anticipated fifth season will be coming to the streaming site on August 21.
But in typical Lucifer fashion, Netflix couldnt just simply reveal its premiere datethat would be too simple. Instead, the network gave fans a thirst trap-worthy video compilation of the shows hottest, sexiest, most downright devilish moments a perfect 66.6 seconds of them.
Though the video does show off plenty of moments featuring Ellis impressive physique throughout the show's last four seasons, it sadly doesnt give any snippets from the upcoming set of episodes. Netflix did, however, give some insight to Deadline about what fans could expect to see:
In the fifth season, the stakes are higher than ever. Secrets will be revealed, beloved characters will die, and well finally get an answer to the question, will they or wont they?
What does this mean exactly for Lucifer and co.? Well, thats a tough call. We know that new characters will arise and a musical element will appear at some point in the season, but thats about it. Fans will have to tune in come August to see the aftermath of Lucifers return to Hell and how that shapes the rest of the series.
On another not: Could this also be the beginning of the end for the show? That remains to be seen, as multiple reports say that Ellis already signed a deal for an upcoming sixth season on Netflix. But only time will tell, and perhaps if fans make enough noise to warrant it.
