...and Disney Park joins the list of tourist attractions who want nothing to do with selfie sticks.

Starting Tuesday (30th June), selfie sticks will be banned at all four Disney theme parks in Orlando, as well as at Disney's water parks and Disney Quest, a gaming attraction at Downtown Disney.

Also, beginning July 1, the ban will also be enforced at Disneyland in California, and at the theme parks in Paris and Hong Kong.

Sticks brought to the parks by visitors will be confiscated at bag check.

Not to worry though, you can have them on your way as confirmed by officals. They also added that visitors will have the option of taking them back to their cars or hotel rooms.

The reason for the ban? Disney World spokeswoman Kim Prunty explains:

"We strive to provide a great experience for the entire family, and unfortunately selfie sticks have become a growing safety concern for both our guests and cast,"

The parks previously tried less drastic measures, posting signs outside rides that warned guests not to try to use sticks while on board.

Disney joins growing tourist attractions like museums, music festivals and sports venues that have banned the sticks after injuries and incidents.
