Nigeria’s foremost social service non-profit organisation, Change-A-Life (CAL) Foundation, will on Friday, May 27, 2016 host the 7th edition of its annual Children’s Day funfair in honour of Nigerian children.
As it is tradition, the event which holds at Eniobanke Centre, 19 Adekunle Fajuyi way, GRA Ikeja, Lagos, will bring together beneficiaries of the Foundation’s intervention programmes, public officials, members of Corporate Nigeria, celebrities and community leaders.
Change-A-Life’s mission mission is to act as a bridge between people in need who possess human, community and leadership potential and the individuals, agencies and organisations with the capacity and willingness to help.
The Foundation was established in year 2002 by media entrepreneur, Funmi Iyanda.
It’s annual commemoration of the United Nations’ Children’s Day is a platform to celebrate children who despite all odds are able to cope with the requirements of their education. It is also an avenue to build bridges of harmony and friendship between children from diverse backgrounds and circumstances.
Themed “Our Children: Our Future”, this year’s event will touch the lives of over one thousand children from ages 5 - 14 years in nursery, primary and junior secondary schools as well as motherless babies homes and orphanages.
Speaking on the significance of this year’s event, Coordinator of Change-A-Life Foundation, Sekinat Ayeyemi, said: “We intend to own the day as the event promises to be bigger and better. To engage the children and create an atmosphere of fun and excitement, notable artistes and celebrities will spend time with the kids to inspire and entertain them.
