Sickle-cell anaemia is known as a recessive genetic blood disorder with over-dominance which is characterized by the red blood cells that assume an abnormal sickle shape. It decreases the cells' flexibility, causing complications. The sickling the occurs due to the mutation in the hemoglobin gene and shortens life expectancy. See for more.
