Charity- Touching Lives with «Touch a Cell» Benefit Concert

The disease has been existing in the country from many years now, and has affected, in many cases cut-short the lives of many. The was the 4th edition of the event was held at the Victoria Crown Plaza, V.I Lagos, on the 1st of April 2012. It was an interesting evening which included musical performances and more. Notable faces at the event included, Yinka Davies (Artiste), Adol (Artiste), Toysn Bucknor (OAP Top radio fm), (Punch Chairman) Mr. Wale Aboderin and others. The event was powered by Sickle Cell Advocacy & Mgt Initiative.

Sickle-cell anaemia is known as a recessive genetic blood disorder with over-dominance which is characterized by the red blood cells that assume an abnormal sickle shape. It decreases the cells' flexibility, causing complications. The sickling the occurs due to the mutation in the hemoglobin gene and shortens life expectancy. See for more.
