While some gave out crisps naira notes to woo voters, other struck up an ingenious ways of capturing the electorates with various items like branded milk, vegetable oil, recharge cards and the most famous one, the almighty rice, which they famously tagged 'Stomach Infrastructure'.

With the elections gone and dusted, one would have thought the era of branded items have gone only for it to resurface in Borno State when the governor, Kashim Shettima, began the distribution of branded rice and grains that had both his photograph and that of the President, Muhammadu Buhari on them, to indigenes as they prepare for the upcoming Ramadan festivities.

The occasion which drew a large crowd in Maiduguri, was chaired by Senator Babakaka Bashir Garbai, representing Borno Central Senatorial District.
