Premier League new comers Nottingham Forest have announced Super Eagles of Nigeria striker Taiwo Awoniyi as their first signing of the season.
Awoniyi was confirmed as a Nottingham Forest player on Saturday, June 25, 2022.
The 24-year-old Awoniyi, joins Nottingham Forest from Bundesliga outfit Union Berlin.
Awoniyi is Nottingham Forest first Premier League signing in 23 years and arrives at a club record fee.

Awoniyi on move to Nottingham Forest
In an interview with the Nottingham Forest website, Awoniyi explained his move to the Premier League.
He said,
“I’m very excited to be here at Nottingham Forest.
“It’s always been my dream to play in the Premier League and having spoken to Steve Cooper about our ambitions and looking at Forest, with its great history, it’s a club that I want to be part of.
Head Coach Steve Cooper added: “There’s been a lot of interest in Taiwo from other Premier League clubs, and other clubs across Europe, so we’re delighted that he’s chosen Nottingham Forest.
