AS Roma recorded a 3-0 victory against Torino in an Italian Serie A fixture played on Friday, May 20, 2022.

Jose Mourinho's side came into the game after a 1-1 draw against Venezia in their last home game of the season.

With one eye on the final, Mourinho's Roma did not take Torino lightly in their final league game of the season.

Roma thrash Torino

AS Roma started the game on the front foot and in the 33rd minute were rewarded with a goal when Tammy Abraham converted a ball through to him by Lorenzo Pellegrini.

In the 42nd minute, Abraham put Roma two goals up when he converted from the penalty spot to give his side a healthy cushion at the halftime break.

In the 78th minute, Abraham converted from the penalty to score Roma's third of the game and seal the victory.

The game against Torino was of significance as it meant that AS Roma finished the season with a spot in the Europa League.

Abraham with two goal in the game now has a total of 17 league goals in his first season in Italy.

Reactions to Roma 3-0 Torino

After the game, Roma boss Jose Mourinho stated that he will now have time to prepare for the Europa Conference League final against Feyenoord.

He said, “We have not even studied Feyenoord yet, as the coach raised the focus level ahead of this match. It was too important that we get the win this evening.

“I won’t deny that I watched a few of their games in the Conference League, but from Sunday we’ll start really studying the Dutch side.”
