Super Eagles forward Emmanuel Dennis grabbed his third goal contribution of the season for Nottingham Forest in a Premier League clash with Brentford.

Bottom club Nottingham Forest hosted mid-table Brentford at the City Ground on Saturday afternoon with both sides playing an exciting 2-2 draw.

Nigeria international Dennis was involved from the start and needed only 20 minutes to grab an assist which takes his season tally to two (2) assists and one (1) goal.

Despite the gulf in league positions between Nottingham Forest and Brentford before the match, both sides came into the game in poor form.

Between them, they had only managed five (5) wins in 26 matches all seasons with Nottingham Forest accounting for eight (8) of the 12 defeats both teams had suffered this season.

However, Steve Cooper's Nottingham were first out of the blocks, breaking the deadlock in the 20th minute through a combination of Emmanuel Dennis and Morgan Gibbs-White.

Both sides had intervals of dominance with Brentford finally grabbing the chance to level in scores in first-half added time when Yoane Wissa won a penalty off Dean Henderson which Bryan Mbeumo duly converted in the third minute of added time.

Nigerian midfielder Frank Onyeka came on for Brentford after the half-time break, replacing Vitaly Janelt while Super Eagles striker Taiwo Awoniyi replaced his compatriot Emmanuel Dennis in the 79th minute during a double substitution by Nottingham Forest.

The away side took the lead in the 75th minute after Wissa turned scorer from a Mattias Jensen assist.

However, in a dramatic turn of events, second-half Brentford substitute Zanka scored an own-goal in the sixth minute of the second-half added time to save Nottingham Forest from defeat.

Emmanuel Dennis was the star performer of the three Super Eagles players that featured in the match, the former Watford forward grabbing an assist in the 20th minute as well as playing two (2) key passes before being substituted in the 79th minute.

Brentford's Frank Onyeka was a half-time substitute in the match with the 24-year-old winning three (3) of the four (4) duels he contested as well as making two (2) clearances and two (2) tackles each.

Taiwo Awoniyi came on in the 79th minute for Dennis but the former Union Berlin striker could manage only one (1) shot off target from a big chance as he had only three (3) touches of the ball in the 11 minutes plus the added time he spent on the pitch.

The result momentarily takes Brentford into the upper half of the table in 10th position with 16 points from 14 matches while Nottingham Forest remain rooted to the bottom of the table with 10 points from 14 matches.
