Only 7 bodies pulled from sea - Officials

Officials have also said that the search for the crashed aircraft might last up to a week as bad weather is currently slowing down efforts to locate the plane.

Rescuers in Indonesia are continuing the search for the crashed Air Asia plane and so far only seven bodies have been pulled out as against the 40 earlier reported. Only one body has been identified.

Air safety investigator, Toos Sanitiyoso stated that the priority at the moment is pinpointing the crash site where the plane went down and the main fuselage would likely be found along with the bulk of the passengers’ corpses. No survivors are expected in the crash.

Sanitiyoso also added that it could take almost a week before the black box is found.

The Air Asia flight QZ8501 disappeared on Sunday, December 28, after taking off from Surabaya, Indonesia for a journey to Singapore.
