With the seemingly incessant killings in the United States of America, the country's president, Barack Obama, has claimed that gun violence has claimed more lives in America than any other causes in the last one decade.

Speaking at the Umpqua Community College on Thursday night, October 1, 2015, following the shooting that claimed lives at the institution, Obama said even terrorist attacks hasn't claimed as much life as gun violence in the last 10 decades.

"Have news organizations tally up the number of Americans who've been killed through terrorist attacks in the last decade and the number of Americans who've been killed by gun violence, and post those side by side on your news reports," Obama said.

Though gun violence isn't the highest cause of death in America - auto accidents, heart diseases and cancer kill more - toll from guns is not only significant but comparable to the number of lives claimed by car accident annually.

In a recent report by Vox.com, infographs showed that all forms of gun deaths which include homicides, suicides, and accidents, have claimed more deaths in America between 2001 and 2013 than combination of terrorism, the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, AIDS, and illegal drug overdoses.

See how these causes of death compares specifically to gun deaths.
