This is why people are putting makeup on their thighs

It’s called “thigh face makeup” and it’s strange AF.

We’ve seen plenty of strange beauty trends that we’re actually kind of into (using your sock as a beauty blender and getting on the face oil train—actually genius). But there are some that go from why-didn’t-I-think-of-that to WTF. Like applying a full face of makeup…to your thigh.

This sneaky and unusual trend started to pop up in late 2016, but it's catching on now. Rather than do a full look on their faces, beauty bloggers are making the thigh the new frontier in contouring. (To do a full-face application of makeup on your leg, you first have to create an expertly contoured face—impressive, no?)

The end result falls somewhere between freaky and intriguing, so naturally people on social media are running with it, using hashtags like #thighmakeup and #thighface.

We applaud these ladies for boldly going where no makeup artist has gone before. Which begs the question—what's next when it comes to beauty? We need to get a leg up on future trends...
