5 health benefits of drinking the natural fluid

Today is World Water Day and it is worth celebrating, especially when thinking of the many advantages that it gives us. Thus, here are five health benefits of drinking water.

Water is so vital and that’s why World Water Day was created, which this year falls on March 22nd. It’s an international landmark that goes as far back as 1992 United Nations Conference on Environment and Development.

The purpose of World Water Day is to learn more about water related issues, take action to make a change and be inspired to tell others. Take a step by learning these five health benefits:

1) You stay youthful:

Drinking plenty of water is good for your skin and dispels dry skin. More so than lotions,  drinking lots of water keeps your skin moisturized and decreases the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. If you don't drink enough water, your body will try to keep it in order to save resources. This retention makes your skin puffy and can even lead to bloating.

2) You get fit:

Water reduces your appetite, so you don't eat as much. Drinking plenty of water also blocks fluid retention, because your body won't try to retain water if it's getting a good supply. Drinking water also aids in burning stored fat. If you're not drinking enough water, your liver will have to help your kidneys detoxify your body. Drinking water flushes toxins from your body and prevents constipation.

3) You Build Muscle:

Another benefit of is that it strengthens your muscles. That's because water supplies oxygen to the cells of your body, including those of your muscles. Drinking plenty of water makes your muscles work harder and longer before they feel tired, and this can aid in building muscle.

4) You get smarter:

Drinking water can improve your cognitive function. Your brain needs loads of oxygen to function at peak levels. Drinking plenty of water makes sure that your brain gets all the oxygen it requires. Having eight to ten cups of water per day can improve your levels of cognitive performance by about 30%! Drinking plenty of water also aids nerve function. It ensures that your body's electrolyte levels remain high enough to allow your nerves to relay messages to and from the brain in the way they were created to.

5) It’s great for your joints:

One of the silent benefits of drinking water is that it aids in keep your joints strong, healthy and lubricated. Your joints require moisture in order to stay strong and flexible, so that your movements are smooth and pain free.
