Queen Elizabeth and Prince Philip are celebrating their 68th wedding anniversary today.

The Queen of England and her husband had their lavish wedding ceremony on November 20, 1947 at Westminster Abbey. The same place William and Kate Middleton had tied the knot in 2011.

Elizabeth who was a princess then had married her prince just two years after World WarII had ended.

"With her bridal dress and tiara on her wedding day, she was a knockout, and of course, Philip was every girl's dream Viking prince," one of her bridesmaids, Lady Pamela Hicks told PEOPLE.

The 89-yr-old queen who became the longest serving British Monarch on September 9, is reportedly going to spend her anniversary alongside her husband visiting Birmingham in the English Midlands.
