Couple ditch cars, use power bikes for wedding ceremony

Benjamin Okelue and his bride, Blessing Chioma Akahara gave Enugu something to talk about for a long time on their wedding day.

The couple who tied the knot on December 29, 2015 caused quite a stare after they arrived St. Mulumba Catholic Church, New Haven, Enugu in a convoy of power bikes.

Benjamin and Blessing both from Enugu state, had left the traditional use of cars and opted for a superbike. The bridal train also arrived in power bikes.

After the wedding, the newlyweds jumped back on their BMW 2016 super bike and headed for the reception. After the partying was over, to the surprise of wedding guests, the Okelues fully kitted up for their journey left the reception for their honeymoon on the super bike, Punch reports.

Speaking to the newspaper, Mr Okelue said he got the BMW 2016 super bike three days before his wedding ceremony.

“I acquired the latest BMW 2016 model super bike, which arrived three days before the wedding, and I decided that I would use it for my wedding,” he told the Punch.

“I am happy that my husband decided to use the superbike because I prefer it to cars. It was a thing of joy to me that I used the superbike for the wedding,” the newlywed Blessing added.
