Vehicle conveying ashes of late Cuban leader breaks down during funeral procession

A vehicle carrying the the ashes of the late Cuban leader broke down and was pushed by soldiers.

Fidel Castro

A group of soldiers had to push the vehicle to Castro's interment site according a report by Fox News.

"The Russian-made jeep ferrying Castro's ashes broke down and needed to be pushed on Saturday en route to the late leader's final resting place.

"The breakdown of the jeep in the midst of adoring crowds chanting "Long live Fidel!" was symbolic of the dual nature of Castro's Cuba.

"While his legacy inspires fierce adulation by many of the nation's citizens, others continue to grumble about Cuba's autocratic government, inefficient bureaucracy and stagnant economy."

This did not affect the mood however, as the crowd cheered on to celebrate one of Cuba's strong leaders.

Castro came into power in the year 1959 after unseating former leader, Fulgencio Batista.
