An anonymous writer once said "Travel, as much as you can, As far as you can, as long as you can. Life is not meant to be lived in one place.."
6 pictures of the girl who 'lives in the train' that reminds of why we should all travel
Travel, as much as you can, As far as you can, as long as you can. Life is not meant to be lived in one place..
Meet Leonie Müller, 23, a German student who has taken this quote seriously and who is also fed up with landlords that she decided to live on a TRAIN.
Müller, 23, who gave up her permanent abode said: "It all started with a dispute I had with my landlord," she told The Washington Post via e-mail.
"I instantly decided I didn`t want to live there anymore and then I realised: Actually, I didn`t want to live anywhere anymore."
So Leonie paid for a BahnCard 100 which allows her to board any train in the country for free. Now, she washes her hair in the train bathroom and writes her college papers while traveling at a speeds of up to 190mph as she commutes between her boyfriend’s unit and her mother’s home in Berlin, 632km from Stuttgart.
“I really feel at home on trains, and can visit so many more friends and cities. It’s like being on vacation all the time,” Müller told The Washington Post.
“I read, I write, I look out of the window and I meet nice people all the time. There’s always something to do on trains,” Leonie told German TV station SWR in an interview.
Living on a train is also supposed to have an academic purpose: Müller is documenting the unusual experiment on a blog. Her final undergraduate paper will be based on her experiences as a modern train-nomad.
However, if you are planning on travelling and becoming a digital nomad like Leonie Müller, "Possessing a headset that mutes most surrounding noises is crucial," she said.
