In Texas CCTV captures thief stealing ring off dead body at a funeral home

The video was reportedly shared by Vel Mckee, the daughter of the deceased identified as Lois Hicks, who had been scheduled to be buried at the Odessa, Texas funeral home where the incident had taken place.

The disturbing tale of a thief who had been caught on CCTV footage stealing a ring off the body of a dead woman, leaving the family of the deceased, sickened, has gone viral.

The video was reportedly shared by Vel Mckee, the daughter of the deceased identified as Lois Hicks, who had been scheduled to be buried at the Odessa, Texas funeral home where the incident had taken place.

The footage shows an unidentified funeral home visitor stealing a ring off Mrs Hicks hand after she had been placed in her casket which had been left open.

During an interview with OA Online, Mrs McKee reveals that her 88-year-old deceased mum's skin had been torn due to the force applied by the thief in other to collect the ring.

"I can’t believe someone would be that low.

"It makes me sick to my stomach. Horrible. I hope they catch her. It made me sick. We just never dreamed something like this would happen. Not in a million years."

The funeral home's manager, Bill Vallie, has reportedly revealed that the woman who had been caught on camera, had entered the place at about 5.27pm, looking for the bathroom.

Vallie went on to reveal that, despite the fact that the unidentified woman had been given directions to the rest room, she had walked into the room where Ms Hicks' body had been lying, going on to remove the ring.

The CCTV footage also shows the woman leaving the building and getting into a parked car.

The police had since been alerted and are now investigation the alleged crime.
