The grieving husband identified as Abragh Mohamed, had reportedly discovered his wife on a TV program designed to reconnect loved ones after losing their contacts.
The reports reveal that Mohamed had buried his wife two years earlier after she had been killed in a car crash.
Mohamed had been told at the Casablanca hospital that an unnamed woman assumed to be his wife, had passed away from her serious injuries.
To Mohamed’s shock as well as his family, his wife had called in during the popular Morroccan TV series, 'Al Mujtafun (Desaparecidos)' or 'Al Mujtafun (Disappeared)' to say she had lost her husband’s contact, giving his former address.
The reports reveal that the widower had not been watching the program at the time, although his friends had, allowing them to break the news to him.
Speaking with Spanish press, Mohamed said:
"I did not know it was a different body that we buried and my wife was still alive."
Mohamed went on to reveal that the doctors handling his wife after the crash had told him that her chances of survival had been minimal even though he still had to cover the costs of treatment.
Upon his return from home with the required amount, Mohamed had been told that his wife had passed on, later collecting what he had imagined was her body, wrapped up and already in a coffin, which he took back to Azilal for burial.
The situation now pleads the question of what had initially transpired leading to the epic mix up, why his wife had taken two years to reach out to him as well as where she had been all this time.
