Swan dies after being dragged out of lake for selfie with female tourist

The woman who is reportedly from Bulgaria had been captured grabbing the swan by its wings as she dragged it out of a lake for a selfie.

Macedonia Online reports that the photo had been taken on the shoreline of Lake Ohrid, south-western Macedonia, with the woman dumping the bird back on the floor after.

The unidentified woman went on to have faun before leaving while the swan had been forced to die alone.

Eye witnesses described how the swan had not responded to the woman's approach as the birds are used to the tourists attention.

Despite the fact that the swan had been so clearly upset, struggling against her hold, she went on to drag it out, and pose for her selfie before dumping the bird.

The swan had reportedly lain “motionless” on the beach after the incident before it had died.
