News reports have revealed that 3 men accused of gang raping and murdering a young female student have been sentenced to death, with another 3 sentenced to life in prison over same charges.

Of the 8 men accused in the case, 2 of them had been acquitted following lack of evidence by the court, with 3 to face death penalties and the other 3, life imprisonment.
The case has reportedly caused outrage in the women's society after the case was brought before an Indian court.
The court located in Kolkata sentenced the suspects identified as Saiful Ali, Ansar Ali and Amin Ali to the death penalty.
Another 3 suspects identified as Sheikh Emanul Islam, Aminur Islam and Bhola Naskar, were reportedly given life sentences over charges of gang rape, criminal conspiracy and causing disappearance of evidence.
The deceased 20-yr-old, according to reports, had been targeted on her way back home after an exam in the village of Kamduni, located in the eastern state of West Bengal.
The victim who's identity has been withheld, had been grabbed as soon as she got off the bus and was taken to an abandoned farm nearby.
She had been found, tied up, gagged and lying in a pool of her own blood in a field on the farm the next morning.
Following further investigations, the victim had been revealed to have been raped repeatedly.
Speaking on the family's loss, the victims brother said:
"Justice has failed us as two of the accused were acquitted and three were awarded life sentences."
