A ‘bullying, violent’ new bride has been jailed for life for the murder of her husband. Metro UK reported.

Sharon Edwards, 42, stabbed her criminal defence lawyer husband David Edwards, 51, to death at their new home in Chorley, Lancashire, two months after they married in Las Vegas.

Mrs Edwards was always maltreating, beating and belittling her husband since they got married.

Friends had warned Mr Edwards to get away from his new partner after he began to appear at work with black eyes, scratched and bite marks.

He told one colleague that his wife had hit him with a coffee table.

It ended when he was stabbed in the heart with a kitchen knife on 23 August last year.

After Mr Edwards’ body was found, the extent of the abuse became clear. There were over 60 external injuries, 30 of which were incised or prod wounds.

According to Metro UK, Mrs Edwards had claimed her husband was an alcoholic whose injuries whose injuries came from falling over. She claimed her husband walked into the knife she was holding during a row after the pair returned from a holiday in Spain.

A jury unanimously convicted her of murder.
