A mobile court in Ota, Ogun, has granted a N200, 000 bail to a 38-year-old driver, Lateef Alabi.
According to the prosecutor, the accused drove a Volvo tipper, with registration no. AAB 944 XA, recklessly, and damaged another truck marked AAB 179 XV.
This damaged truck, belonging to Mr Emmanuel Namo, has been valued at N1.5 million.
Gbesi said the offences, committed at Sona Breweries, Ota, on Lagos-Abeokuta Expressway, were against Sections 6 (1) of the Federal Highways Act of the Revised Laws of Federation, 2000.
However, the accused pleaded not guilty to the charges.
An Ota Magistrates' Court, presided by Senior Magistrate, Mr S.O. Banwo, granted a N200, 000 bail, along with two sureties.
Banwo said these sureties were part of the bail condition, adding that they must live within the court's jurisdiction, be gainfully employed and show evidence of one year tax payment to Ogun State Government.
Afterwards, the court adjourned for further hearing on May 5, 2016.
